Review: Asus G50Vt-X5 Republic of Gamers laptop PC has the look, feel, and tools for a laptop good game. Love him or hate, design and colors certainly catch your attention. The Asus G50Vt-X5 has a base of glossy black and brown color with a yellow / red lightning accent on lid with LED lights along the side and middle.
The opening the notebook, we were impressed by the wide, extended keyboard and responsiveness and tactile feedback keys. The screen is a 15.6 "Wide LCD screen offers a resolution 1366 x 768. There is also an old secondary screen can be used for instant messaging or control system performance. The notebook also features a series of touch controls that allow the user to pass parameters performance based on use, and some other features quickset. Another notable feature on the Asus G50Vt-X5 Asus Express is the control. This allows the user to access different files (IM, music, etc.) without waiting for Windows to boot.
The Asus G50Vt-X5 is powered by Core 2 Duo P7450 2.13 GHz CPU and 4 GB RAM DRR2. NVIDIA 9800M GS Graphics w / 512 MB Memory GDDR3. Storage of 320 GB SATA hard drive is running @ 7200 rpm. It should be noted that there is a second drive bay open for an additional hard drive to be installed. However, we would need to buy a second hard basket to do so, because it is not that provided in the second port.
The G50Vt-X5 has 4 USB ports, an E Sata Port, an antenna port, Firewire port and 1394. Regarding video connections, this notebook has a VGA port and a port HDMI, but lacks an S-video. There are two jacks headhone, a microphone jack, and a port ExpressCard/54. The optical drive is a DVD + / - DVD Super Multidrive w / writing / LightScribe technology. While the Asus G50Vt-X5 has both an Ethernet adapter and a Wi-Fi, it lacks Bluetooth. An integrated 2.0 MP web cam comes standard on this machine, and the sound is managed by Altec Lansing speakers with Dolby Home Theater Sound HD.
We tested the ASUS G50Vt-X5 with Unreal Tournament and Lost Planet. Unreal Tournament Ran at 83 fps using the Extreme mode, while Lost Planet Ran @ 52 FPS DX9 Extreme. Thus, we were pleased to see that this laptop can handle demanding games with graphics options to continue to operate at very high speeds. Regarding the battery life, we got a little less 3 hours with the 9 cell battery.
Conclusion: The ASUS G50Vt-X5 is a game very capable notebook with the above graphs average and overall quality. Although it lacks some features like Bluetooth, S-Video, and some media buttons are often on PC games chance, it would be difficult to find a game more capable phones in its price range. Thus, we found the ASUS G50Vt-X5 to be more than adequate for most regular to heavy players, and great value in the $ 560 - $ 800 price range.
