Worth every penny, if you have that many pennies
Well I was very cautious about buying a alienware mainly due to price and less expensive laptops you can get for a lower price with the same characteristics or more. Well here is the reason for this is well worth it, and much better. First of all parties within the original parts are Intel, Nvidia genuine parts and laptop everything is built from scratch with a super chip components. Many computers such Acer, Gateway, HP, Sony and even use other companies to manufacture motherboards there graphics cards, screens etc etc. This thing is Absolute a Sherman tank, and just looks and feels indestructible bottom right. When I got out of the box (it appeared to cost about 100 $ I itself was like wow impressive). He was wrapped in a black velvet sheath Alienware which was quite unique, i could not open it not believe the weight (may be a con for some people), and then I realized this thing has metal components, sides, bottom and back screen. How many times do you think, ever? So yes, this thing is well worth the money. Now on the specifications. What is not working not say (I am writing on the model of Best Buy) is that this unit is equipted with two yes two GPUs. One is the main Nvidia GTX 260, the other Nvidia 9400, so basically the most powerful GPU eats the least give you extra capacity and graphic game, and yes it shows a lot of time. The 1080p resolution can be (its 1440x900) but who really cares? Check on Xbox and PS3 and you'll find very few games, even run at full 1080p resolution, even noting enlarged compare games, like on this thing. I played Bioshock, Red Faction Guerilla, Resident Evil 5 Crysis and so far without a hitch, although you can play Crysis at very high frame with a playable frame rate. The glossy screen really brings out the details and bright colors especially with antialiasing, even if it is not the brightest in the world, its great. The slot loading DVD-RW is great, loads very quickly and runs quietly. Do not be fooled by the hype of the new Intel Series I, the i7 has not made that much of an impression on me, this thing has the Core 2 Quad running at 2.0 GHz, and the scoring system for calculations per second is 6.9. The i7 in most other gaming devices is approximately 7.0 or 7.2, to Whoopi, who really cares? Also the overall appearance of this machine is simply beautiful, the keys atomatically are set to blue, but you can change them at about any color you want to use the Console utility Alienware.
Battery can be up to 3 hours if you minimize the screen and not really playing to heavy, thats definitely a plus. I got tired of Asus due to the types of questions allll wireless, blue screens of death, disc read errors, the keys do not crash, and some Screwup major global with the machines themselves. So yes I paid the extra money would be better contained and has well exceeded my expectations, being it blows the G60 more modern, but the discoloration and laptops Asus G72 series out of the water. The speakers at the front as the brightness the same color as the key or a different variety if you want, which is really something. On another note i opened the box with the adapter sector and type of the box platform, not the usual box type adapter Xbox 360, you usually get with gaming machines. I'll add another 2 concerts (for 6) just to add, but heck it doesn't even need that thing is a beast always multitasking. I think of anything more than 6 gigs is really uneeded sine most games do not require more than 3 gigs anyway, and it would be a shock. So, as I welcomed it the laptop first real game I ever owned, everything else was ok, but nothing compared to this thing. When they say its done for gaming and heavy multitasking they were not kidding. This beast will certainly stand the test of time, and is also extensible to GPU out there, but I do not think I ever need anything more. If you have money do not waste your time with Asus, Cyperpower or even Toshiba Qosmio, even if the specifications are better this thing is specifically designed for intensive use. The sound quality is the strongest I've ever heard and also has a subwoofer. The only thing that is a slight problem is when your little games, the fan is noisy realllly, but I really could less care given I know it will never overheat, umm thats what the fans and cooling system are for. I had other phones where the fan did not even run, not good. So enough going on and if you have the money or credit only get it, it's not just for his players for all who seek a really great and performing notebook to last for many years. One last thing funny Alienware is you get a black hat and a leather-bound manual that looks like a Bible, and also a thumbnail to alienhead Alienware, right where you want to paste. HA.
Only two things, no Blu-ray, which I do not care because I have it on my PS3, and I would like in these units they would put a 16x or 18x DVD burner, instead of just 8x.
