Driving Anxiety - 5 tips to stop a panic attack while driving

I have a confession to make ... I'm really stressed out when I 'm behind the wheel of a car. Well, it was not much of a confession that he was? Because most people are stressed, worn, pushed to the edge, or whatever you want to call when driving. It happens. A couple of times I even felt a rush of fear and anxiety almost overwhelming to dive in heavy traffic or sometimes when passing over a bridge along the top. What is that anyway? The answer is: it is the engine of anxiety - fear of driving phobia highway -. It goes by many different names, but what it is, is a type of panic attack.

Now, my anxiety driving light has never lost control, and I was always able to calm myself by taking few deep breaths. But there are those among us who are so afraid of driving, or the fear of having an anxiety attack while driving, they can hardly be in the drivers seat more. For people who fall into this category very intense panic attacks while driving, there must be some kind mechanism for recycling and calm their minds to be able to resume their ability to drive normally. There are methods and it is very possible to do so.

Some things simply DO IF YOU'RE a panic attack while driving:

1) Take the slow lane. There's nothing like having 20 cars honking at you and leave you on the right side, you flip the bird, because of your anxiety level rising.

2) Breath deeply and turn on the radio if it helps. Radio often takes my mind off my worries.

3) Slow down, you're in the slow lane now that all state banks go crazy. You do not participate in their game: "I'll get there before you."

4) Open a window a bit of fresh air, even if it is cold outside. The cold air will give you something to think about besides your heart racing.

5) If you need - pull off on the shoulder SECURITY. Give it a rest for five minutes. Do not leave the car, the best to just breathe deeply and let things happen.

You must be able to recognize that these are irrational fears that you have and as long as you keep your wits about you, you are perfectly safe. I know that is hard to do when traveling on the road at 70 mph with a car on the tail and another cut you off every 15 seconds.

Unfortunately the stress of driving and go hand in hand, especially when it comes to driving in town these days. Stress and Anxiety Driving can be overcome, but first recognize that it is quite normal to feel some anxiety while driving. What is not normal to let the fear of driving that you control, causing fear as to interfere with your normal day to day life. If your anxiety Driving out of hand, get help.
