1.5 terabyte desktop hard drive
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11, the first 1.5 terabyte hard drive office to hit the market. The launch of the Barracuda ® 7200.11 1.5TB hard drive, an increased half-terabyte capacity of the largest previous 1 TB is the eleventh generation of Seagate for desktop computers, is the largest capacity hard drive jump in history more than half a century disk drives.
Technical Details
The Barracuda 7200.11 hard drive combines the capacity and speed needed for more Today's demanding PC applications in office. The drive packs 1.5TB on just four platters and its fast Serial ATA interface provides 3Gb/second peak sustained data rate of up to 120MB/second for quick startup, application startup and file access. The 3.5-inch drive is also offered in capacities of 1TB, 750 GB, 640 GB, 500 GB, 320 GB and 160 GB of cache options of 32MB and 16MB.
The Barracuda 7200.11 hard drive combines proven PMR technology, components and expert manufacturing to provide 1.5TB of reliable storage for consumer desktops, positions Work, desktop RAID, gaming and high-end PCs, and USB / FireWire / eSATA external storage.

Technical Details
Momentus 5400.6 and Momentus 7200.4 hard drives are the fourth generation Seagate laptop family to use PMR. The Momentus 5400.6, a hard disk 5400 rpm, combines a powerful Serial ATA interface 3Gb/second and capacities up 120GB to 500GB with an 8 MB cache. The Momentus 7200.4 hard drive, with its rotational speed 7200 rpm and a Serial ATA interface 3GB/second, provides true desktop performance.
Shock resistance
Both Momentus drives are built tough to withstand up to 1000 Gs of non-operating shock and 350 Gs of operating shock to protect drive data, making it ideal for readers of the systems that are subject to manipulation abrupt or high levels of vibration. To add robustness in mobile environments, the Momentus 5400.6 and 7200.4 are offered with G-Force Protection, a technology free-fall sensor to help prevent damage to drive and data loss upon impact if a laptop is dropped. The sensor operates by detecting changes in acceleration equal to the force of gravity and parks the disk heads to avoid contact with the platter free fall of as little as 8 inches and within 3/10ths of a second.

Seagate Momentus new discs are low power consumption, allowing notebook users to work longer between battery chargers, and are virtually inaudible thanks Seagate innovative SoftSonic fluid dynamics and engine technology for QuietStep ramp load.
