Thinkpad T60 Intel Core Duo

The biggest feature of the ThinkPad T60 is the fact that Lenovo is one of the first Centrino Duo notebooks can do.? The sample we had was actually a Centrino Duo system because it was equipped an Intel 945GM chipset, 3945ABG wireless solution and an Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16 GHz) processor.? IBM does offer other versions that use the T60 Core Duo processor, but do not qualify to be called a Centrino Duo as well.?

Basically the same as its predecessor T-series notebooks did. The T60 body is a rugged plastic that does not flex. The magnesium reinforced lid not moving and amazing offers protection for the screen. The keyboard does not flex - at all. The thick metal hinges that attach the screen are very rigid and ensure the screen does not wobble. The keyboard is spill-resistant and has two drain holes to ensure that if you do happen to spill your Starbucks coffee morning, the liquid is carried away from sensitive components and through the bottom of the laptop. The hard drive is shock-mounted and the chassis is a whole new concept of magnesium "cage" (it provides coverage of 30% more than the chassis of the T series past) and even if your T60 is dropped and broke the Active Protection System (APS) to cease the activity hard drive to prevent data loss. The screen Double locking system locks to ensure that the screen stays down when worn around. In other words, there no shortcuts used in the construction quality of past ThinkPad notebooks since the coup Lenovo IBM - only enhancements.

The inside means that this computer has an Intel chip inside meaning better performance than others, the way back in 1993, not that Intel focused on the inside of the computer. Watch it and it will be really bad for them. All these people do not even recognize the intel they knew with the new logo.

I admit, I have no use for Weener (Windows) key. It is a useless feature to have if you use other operating systems or out migration from Windows. It's like solution Nvidia Firewall ... Another feature useless "Windows Only" users. (Which causes more trouble than its worth it).

With the adoption of all these Lenovo "everyone has" characteristics, not even the ThinkPad. They do not differ technologically as they did.

While the fingerprint scanner and keypad light is interesting, but that's all is. OldR50 my ThinkPad has a keyboard and lighting. So I guess the only thing is the fingerprint reader.

As ThinkPad Z61m, the ThinkPad T60 features a 15.4 inch widescreen with a 1,680 x1, 050 native resolution that provides a large amount of screen real estate (About 26 columns and 51 rows on the Excel spreadsheet by default), but can make text appear small. Users who fall behind on their supplements Vitamin A can configure the T60 with a 1280 x 800 display resolution. Like all ThinkPads, a reading lamp back in the bezel above the screen lets you to illuminate the keyboard when working in dark environments. The T60 does not integrated webcam located on the bezel display the Z61m is.

Regarding ThinkVantage, which is useful ... To a certain extent.

I tried to "clean food" from the WinXP partition hidden (as Windows requires a clean install after 2 or more years of use), and I get a crapload of errors. The trackpoint and touchpad no longer seems to be detected, and so on. And other error messages. I could not go beyond finishing the installation. So I unhide the WinXP partition and formatted the sucker clean, gained 8 GB hard disk space back. Which is enough for a quad-boot ... Win2k, Slackware, FreeBSD and Solaris. (And they have all work very well with the trackpoint / touchpad).

In all starting price is higher than comparable systems, lack a number of ports that are not essential but fairly standard and connections. Robust, well-designed case; strong security features; full range of network connections including WWAN and Bluetooth; swappable internal bay; warranty and support solid reputation.
