What are the advantages and disadvantages of filter cartridges?

Filter cartridge or element pool was available for a relatively long time. Cartridge filters are made of a fibrous material that is very effective for removing dirt and suspended solids when water passes through it.

Cartridge filters consist of a large tank with paper or polyester "element" that fills the entire tank inside the bottom up. Cartridge filter systems use a removable filter to trap dirt and debris. Water is pumped from the swimming pool through the filter, and then back to your pool. The majority of pool filter cartridge are simply removed from the unit to clean.

The filter element can last only one year, or may take several years depending Use and care with which it is cleaned. The cartridge pool filters trap debris particles as small as 8-10 microns.

Cartridge pool filters require cleaning to remove debris from the filter element, and once or twice each swimming season of the filter element should be soaked in a solution of cleaning the filter to remove more stubborn stuck on debris and oils. Depending on how a filter cartridge is cutting and dirt from the pool is, the element may need to be cleaned once a month, once a week or more frequently.
