Why are there Lines on my Copies?
Why there Lines on my Copies? (And how to get rid of them!)
Have you ever made a copy and noticed that there are lines over the entire length of the page? This article focuses on identifying image defects or lines as a key operator (person responsible for the equipment.) may set their own lines and need someone to repair adjust. You do not want to spend $ 75.00 to $ 150.00 for a technician to properly clean your glass, would you? No, I do not think so.
Slot Glass at the age of multi-function printers (MFPs) comes new problems. Fax machines, digital copiers and multifunction devices have all have one thing in common. They all have a point on known as "glass shakes." Each machine that uses a slit glass as a means of eventually scan images by getting dirty and causing lines on copies and transmitted faxes. These machines do not scan the same way as the older analog copiers or do. Analog copiers use the glass together with mirrors to get the image on the photoconductor. Digital copiers use glass cracked. It passes along This small region and uses mirrors that direct the CCD unit. The CCD unit then converts the analog information into digital data. When using the document feeder or processor of the original password only on the glass cracked. It is not copied from glass where you drop your originals.
How to determine if the glass is cracked the problem. Copiers, multifunction and fax machines, you can quickly diagnose whether the glass is cracked the problem.

Digital copiers and equipment This type of multi-slit glass is easy to spot. Simply lift the document feeder and look for the small glass square about 1 inch by 12 inches. Look closely. If there is something stuck on it, it will cause a line. The default image will look like a line of small pine the full width of the page, even though I saw more 1 inch wide. The most common substance that I found stuck to the glass is white-out. This occurs because they do not let it dry before launching into the charger. When it dries on the glass, it does not come off easily. Another problem is blobs of ink, because it still does not allow enough time to dry. Being impatient actually cost you more time in the long term.
Cleaning the glass cracked. Cleaning the glass is cracked easily but be very careful and be sure you have deleted all that. Take your fingernail and scrape as much as you can. Get a cotton towel and saturate it with alcohol. I also recommend using a buffer soaked in alcohol. These come in small sealed bag and are inexpensive and easy to find. Soak the stain for a minute, which warms whiteout. Glass cleaner does not remove it as well as alcohol. There is something about alcohol that breaks down the white veil. Then pass it with a cotton towel soaked lint-free glass cleaner, then dry to remove streaks. Do not spray liquid on the glass, because some of them may find its way inside the machine.
Fax. The slit glass on a fax machine can be a little more difficult to access. The document feeder or processor is normally under the control panel. Lift the cover and shine a flashlight on the glass small slit. It is about 1 inches by 12 inches in diameter. Use the same technique to clean it.
You've cleaned the Slit-glass but the line is still there. Sometimes the blob of whiteout is really stuck on the glass cracked. I have a procedure that is crazy to find evidence where the spot is, because sometimes it is so small you can not see. First, get the copy that line on her. Keep it straight and evenly the glass cracked. Look closely and see if you can follow the line of the glass. That's where the spot is. One thing about this procedure. You should check both ways. Turn 180 degrees and re-inspected because the image is reversed due to the lens. Now that you've found the place you may have to use a solvent to get this place off. These can be stubborn and difficult to eliminate. You can try WD-40. My technicians use a solvent called D-Ink (Coopers). DL'encre is very expensive, but it works well. If you still have copies of your line, you have another problem.
Call for Service Call a qualified repair person to come out and take a look. I recommend using a repair Local independent. Look for them in the Yellow Pages. I recommend an independent because they are generally a small business and they will give you a service more personalized. I hate those crazy phone systems, being stuck in a loop trying to service call. Mostly they also have more experience and you will not pay over-inflated hourly rate for a large company or authorized dealer.
Problems Other Line If you follow my tests and you have an online copy of both the glass and using the document feeder, then you have another problem. I think it's always a good idea to have a good technician ready to call, but why spend money when it is something so simple someone could do. Here is a list of probable causes. Many things can go wrong and I will not go into too much detail.
Possible Causes / Lines
Laser printers, laser printers and fax machines LED toner, the charging roller, paper or object stuck in the deadlock the scanner, transfer roller, optics, and the corona wire. Note: You can clean these but if you do not know what you do, you can damage something.
Inkjet Printers and Faxes The print head, ink cartridges, optics dirty paper or object stuck inside the machine locks the print head or the optics.
Copier and MFP toner cartridge, Charge roller, paper or object stuck in the deadlock of the scanner, transfer roller, corona wire, and optics dirty. Note: You can clean these but if you do not know what you are doing you can damage something.
I hope this article you helped save some of your hard earned money. There's really no reason to spend money when you can clean it yourself!
