This is my second netbook and very impressed. Most of these netbooks are very similar in performance and the choice summarized in reality to their personal preferences. A number of things that I liked;
- The touchpad has a "hump" surface rather than being good
- Keyboard layout is ideal for typists (my other netbook is good, but it makes me crazy with the right shift key are smaller and offset)
- The screen is bright and can be easily adjusted to improve battery life
- As mentioned in other reviews, the battery life is great
- The most important thing for me has easy access to the memory and the hard drive. This netbook has two doors on the bottom so you can upgrade the memory or hard drive without having to completely take outside (unlike the new Asus models)
I upgraded the hard drive for a 80GB SSD and memory to 2G. It will never compete with a laptop or desktop, but it is fast enough (for a Netbook) and easily handles MS Office.
The only element that causes a problem is the power adapter. He has a sheet large enough and does not fit into tight places (like some of the convenience outlets on the desks in hotel rooms). However, this is a minor inconvenience.
Overall, this is a great netbook and intent to purchase a a second member Famiy.

You have the XP version, because the whole idea of win7 "starter" just makes me anger. But precisely the incapacity to extend the desktop to another monitor (without an update fee) is a major drawback for device with a screen of 10 ". No such problem with the XP version, as it is. XP versions not available with> 160 GB disk, so there is your compromise.
I seriously thought about ASUS, which is well reviewed and offers a bit more bang for their money, but I admit other Acer products, and finally just went with the familiar brand. I like the color too, FWIW.
The unit was packed in box about the handle and arrived a day earlier, without any signs of mishandling. Unpacking and setting up the unit was simple. Deleted several free trial versions, 'dug our main home network, downloaded Firefox, AVG, and a Citrix client (which puts me on the company server), and went to work.
The screen is clear, bright, and very strong. I had no difficulty working with small text and images. Did not hate keyboard "chicklet either. It seems to me that using only four fingers, but good speed and no more typos than usual.
XP recognized all the devices in the home, including two Canon printers, a Chinese knockoff portable dvd player, and several mice, keyboards and monitors. With the mouse, keyboard and cheap 17 "monitor, this netbook is a desktop replacement as powerful and useful than any laptop I've ever owned. Unplug everything and its much more portable - less than half price.
Only caveat is that I'm not a gamer, so no comment there. The video and sound systems are thoroughly good for what I do. Before he recognized my crappy old 17 "monitor for the wimp she is, she offered me the choice of high resolution pixel.

Ultra-Light Terrific netbook
The Acer Aspire One 532H is sold in several versions, with some suppliers, such as Costco, having unique versions. I was able to obtain consistently 8:00 to 9:00 for use before needing to recharge the battery. The ultra-light weight of the 532H and slim body make easy to carry in my briefcase all day.
When I stop for coffee, he quickly identifies the wireless Internet connections available. I use it mainly for e-mail and control of news headlines. However, although the keyboard is a bit cramped after a while to adapt, typing documents Shorter is not difficult. The screen is clear and easy to read.

I suspect a program such as Photoshop is very slow with only one GB of memory though. Sometimes high CPU load 100%, indicating that the CPU, not the 1 GB of memory, is the main cause of the computer running slowly during certain tasks.
There is no reason to upgrade to two GB of RAM if you plan to use the Aspire for e-mail, browsing on the news, listening to music or watching videos on Hulu. I bought a mini-DVD unit so I can watch movies. Use Windows Media Player, there was a great picture but no sound. I downloaded the free VLC video software, movies, and then played well, with stereo sound pleasant. Then I tried the new Windows Media Player, and he was also playing DVD movies with sound ... I guess when I downloaded the VLC video player, it included an audio codec that Windows 7 was missing.
If I had to go away for a few weeks, the Aspire charger, and mini-DVD player to provide me with a comprehensive computer system that weighs less than a total of £ 5 ... light enough to keep with you all the day. Folks would have laughed ten years ago if you said that someday you would be able to buy a computer that weighed less than three pounds and costs less than $ 300. A real bargain.

The perfect compromise
When I shopped for this netbook, it was a long process. There are so many configurations and different rates available. I finally did was to write a wish list in order of priority with the Price is obviously the decisive factor. What finally made me decide on this netbook is that it has all my criteria for high priority and I have not paid 30 to 50% more to get what I really din't need (bigger hard drive, Home Premium or Windows 7, etc.)
The following has been my wish list in order to comment on this unit.
Extended battery (6 cell battery to be removed from the rear, as growth. Approximately 10 hours as advertised!)
Minimum processor N450 (N270 or not the 280 that cuts your battery life by about 25%).
Reasonable hard disk. (160 GB difficult to fill, but I can always upgrade later, the reuse of 160 in an enclosure.)
The integrated Bluetooth technology (no dongles and software much better. Function key on and off with LED indicator. Wireless mouse (track pad used no more than a couple minutes of my readers are nuts), PDA synchronization easier, if not sharing lan wifi, use your helmet on your cell phone, Bluetooth functionality very helpful if you find more useful as you go. It works very well with all my devices and shares well. The software and hardware has been integrated by the manufacturer to work together and I'd like to go this route than going for $ 20 dongle that everyone seems to complain about. BTW, if something jars dongle physically tough enough, it could destroy the onboard computer).
A good screen (for viewing person).
A reasonable keyboard.
XP is actually a bonus. (Great importance to these small processors and it works much less than 7 Home Premium!)
webcam and microphone (Work very well with Skype, etc.).
SDHC card slot (not Sony stuff so I'm not paying for extra slots I will not).

Very good netbook
Construction Quality:
Bargain laptops in the past have often hinges wobbly or had a body capable of bending
not so with this netbook. I am pleased to announce that the hinges are strong, does not waver
and parts of palm rest flex not important, but the keyboard has a little
Flex when you type fast.
Performance:
I swapped the hard drive to a disk 7200 rpm I had in my old notebook and installed
a full version of Windows 7 without any performance problem even though I kept the 1 GB of RAM
avast antivirus and I run in the background. Although the computer is less sensitive than
my office, responsiveness is more than enough.
Battery:
That seems to good life but I did not measure and I probably decreased by installing
a 7200 rpm and Windows 7. I also like how the battery 6 cells raises the computer
for better cooling without behave great.
Other comments:

-The touchpad button has a left and right click function (I've heard are not netbooks

-The computer does not come with a carrying case

Small but mighty!
This computer was everything I wanted. I even bought a USB DVD Burner Lightscribe and made a music CD for my son, full of his favorite songs, with his picture on the front. I am a musician and downloaded Audacity multi-track a few songs. I just used a microphone Audio-Technica pluged into the outlet line-in/microphone and he did a good job. I can not wait to buy a pair of Bluetooth stereo headphones so I could listen to my music collection wirelessly.
This is not a dual core processor so it's a little slow on some functions, but it is a capable performer. I bought the upgrade to 2GB RAM and improve performance noticably. If you do not need more, the most formidable of the computer on the market and you want something something easy to travel with, then I recommend this computer. My wife's laptop just died recently, and after playing with my netbook for some time, decided to buy these instead of a full laptop size.
