Hard drives can have a mean time between failures rating of 300,000 hours of "mean time between failures or MTBF" is jargon, but the failures are more common than you've seen

If hard drives are expected to last almost forever, you'd be surprised how many units are dead on arrival time of purchase. Is this an oversight or quality control is just the nature of the beast?

Today, computers are not luxury items, they are the door of our heritage that is needed financial information, work files or irreplaceable memories in the form of photos, video, music, etc.
