What if your 2.5 "IDE (or ATA) hard drive does not connect to a standard IDE drive Caddy

If you take the disk drive (HDD) on your computer laptop and you are trying to recover some data or reformat it and use it in a Caddy USB disk as a backup, but it does not in options do you have?

There are normally two reasons why a standard IDE / ATA hard drive does not fit or connect a standard USB Disk enclosure designed to account for these drives:

1. The hard drive is a 12 mm version and not the size of 9.5mm of uniform thickness. Some older hard drives were manufactured just a little more "wholesale" from the norm and thus the disc drive will not be good inside the HDD Disk Case. Because you can not have the hard drive rattling around in case they are specially machined to operate only with hard disks 9.5 mm. If you got one of the old versions / 12mm thick then your only option is to use a cable kit, VE225 products like ..

   They are fine and recover data from hard disk and they let you use the hard drive to store data, etc., but because they do not provide a protective case and treated in the hard disk, they are not ideal for use during

2. The hard drive is equipped with a "jacket" by the computer manufacturer. This sheath is placed over the standard IDE / ATA Interface Pin and must be removed before the hard drive can be used with any USB Disk enclosure. Kidnapping is usually quite simple and takes a few seconds.

   As far as we are aware of the "gains" made at the end of the hard drive by some laptops were used simply makes to the assembly of laptops a little easier. Once removed the usual IDE interface is visible and you will be able to use the hard disk in any standard 2.5 "Portable Hard Drive
