What is the resolution of my photos television?
The Photo DVD Maker Professional version supports DVD, SVCD, VCD 2.0 still picture as the output format. Please refer to the file comparison video below. Normally, the DVD output is the best in terms of compatibility of the DVD.
I create more than one album?
Yes, you can have multiple albums, each with unlimited photos. You need to use the multi-album Photo DVD Maker as follows:
- In the "Organize Photos" window, click the "New Album" button. There will be a pop-up window where you need to input the album name.
- Select photos and add photos to the selected album.
- Repeat the steps above to add more slideshows.
How many photos can be added to the slideshows?
Photo DVD Maker uses MPEG encoder. Since the output file is MPEG2 format, the capability depends on the number of photos, interval time between photos and the length of music background. The program can calculate the disc space used when photos or background music are added into slideshows. There is no limit to the number of photos for each slideshow. The only limitation is disk space on your DVD-R or DVD-RW. Normally, a 4.7G DVD-R disc can holds more than 1,000 photos with background music.
Why there are no transition effects when playing on TV?
Photo DVD Maker Professional supports version DVD, SVCD, VCD 2.0 still picture as the output format. Please select SVCD or DVD as the output disc format if you need the effects of transition. If you select the image that the output format, there will be no transition effects available. The high resolution images fixed format makes photos look great on TV (resolution is as high as 704x576). To support this kind of high quality image format television with DVD player, the layout of files on CD is not the same as the normal video CD which can be played like a movie television or computer. This is the reason why this output format does not support transition effects.
What is the difference between the trial and the full verion?
The only difference between trial version and full version is the limitation that you can burn a maximum of 36 files in each CD or DVD disc.

Why my VCD or DVD Player does not recongnize the burned CD or DVD?
The reason why some burned CD or DVD discs can not be played on your DVD / VCD is due to "read" the ability of your DVD / VCD. Please make sure your DVD / VCD supports VCD 2.0 format, SVCD format. Even so, according to our tests, some models of DVD / VCD (normally the old models) do not support some particular brand names of burned CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW (worse for DVD + R / RW). If this is your case, please use another brand of blank CD-R or DVD-R disc with the lowest write speed to have a try.
When I play the CD engraved, what should I do if I am required to turn on the "PBC"?
"PBC" means "PlayBack Control". It a function for VCD 2.0 format to support playback of the disc menu. Please do not press any key before pressing the play button. Otherwise, the main menu of the disc can not be shown. Sometimes when you insert the burned disc into the DVD drive, you see the blue screen with the television. If this is your case, you must press the "Play" button before you press any key (1, 2, 3, ..) on your DVD remote to play the corresponding slide shows.
Why the size of my photos is only the quarter of the screen on TV?
When the picture is only a quarter of the screen on TV, you must have seen the disc menu. Each disc menu selects the first photo of your photo slideshow you've prepared in the first step. VCD, DVD and VCD Photo
Video CD or VCD, is a digital movie format. It is essentially a version original DVD. A Video CD is a kind of CD. It has the same appearance as a music CD or CD-ROM, except that instead of music or software, it holds movies, using compressed MPEG-1. Its resolution is 352x240 (NTSC) or 352x288 (PAL), which is roughly comparable to VHS. VCD uses a standard MPEG-1 for storing video and audio. A VCD can be played on almost all standalone DVD players and all computers with a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM with the help of a VCD decoder software. VCD 2.0 was introduced in 1995 and adds hi-resolution stills, fast forward, rewind and functions originally specified SuperVCDs (SVCD) uses either high speed MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 variable rate for the use of CD-R instead of DVD players.
DVD once stood for digital video disc or digital versatile disc, but now it is just for DVD - the next generation Technology of optical disk storage. DVD is essentially a bigger, faster CD that can hold cinema-like video, better than CD audio, and data computer. photo dvd
Photo VCD is not a standard in itself, this term is used when a group of image files are placed on VCD connected to TV and displayed in a format like a slideshow. There are two ways to do this with VCD 2.0 technology: one is to import the photos into a video editing program, adding optional music and transition effects as desired. The time between pictures is decided by the filmmaker, not the viewer. The result is that the output of a VCD or SVCD motion video and written like any motion video to VCD or SVCD.
The resolution is limited to VCD 352x240 (NTSC), 352x288 (PAL) or SVCD 480x480 (NTSC), 480x576 (PA) L which may appear grainy or low resolution compared with original images. Another way is to author a photo VCD 2.0 disc encoding each picture as a still MPEG at 704x480 (NTSC), 704x576 (PAL). This allows better resolution but (probably) no transition effects. This results in collection of still images can be created MPEG with a program that automates the whole process from images to disc.
MPEG, MPEG Picture Structure and SMPTE
