Drive Enclosure

The hard disk of the computer, which is simply an item in your system, you store your data permanently. If you want to locate a document or view your photos, your computer operating system locates them on your hard drive and displays them on your monitor. A simple definition of a disk drive is a sealed device that has the ability to store digital data on magnetic disks self contained, platters, which are written and read by a special head at the end of an arm that works much like a turntable households. If you picture in your mind a turntable, also called a turntable, it has a needle at the end of an arm that plays music that the record rotates. The portion of your hard drive that reads data is placed very close to the turntable and moves very quickly to different areas of the shelf where the data necessary to moment in time is stored.

When you use a laptop or desktop computer, and you double-click a folder to open it, the system exploitation, such as Microsoft Windows XP or Vista, says it the hard drive that would see the contents of the particular file that you double-clicked. The plateau within your system must run around the place where the head is able to retrieve data are magnetically recorded on the disc drive, then send it to the operating system so that Windows can display the contents of the folder on your computer screen. Now it is a very basic definition of a hard drive in action, because in reality there are many components involved in this process as CPU (Central Processing Unit), RAM (Random Access Memory), motherboard, etc.

Basically, the hard drive stores all information such computers as documents, pictures and movies for example. When the computer is off, and finally turned on, data on the hard disk remains intact exactly as expected be expected. This is called permanent storage. The data remains intact on the hard drive until the computer user deletes data from permanent storage. Without this important component of the system there would be no way for us to permanently store large amounts of data.

The hard drive is often considered as a fixed disk, because once it is mounted inside an office, housing external, or laptop, it is not necessary to remove it. If you think a CD (Compact Disc) or DVD (Digital Video Disc), they are all capable of storing digital data, but they are obviously not fixed in any way. In addition, they depend on an optical drive to get their data from being read by a computer. In the case of a laptop or an external box, the hard drive is definitely portable, but the disk itself remains firmly fixed in the laptop or enclosure.
