Formats the external storage for backup files
There are many different ways how to store backup copies. The Middle safer in terms of security awareness, of course, is to save these copies on external storage devices and put as much as possible away from your desk.
Some devices from which you can choose the best one for your backups!
✗ Floppy Disc
A floppy disk is a data storage device that consists of a disk of thin, flexible storage media ("Floppy") magnetic shell wrapped in a square or rectangular plastic. Floppy discs are read and written by a floppy drive or FDD. 1.44 MB (3 ½-inch disk), 1.2 MB (5-inch disc ¼) Issues: It can be saved as files, small! To make backups of all files you need hundreds of floppy disks! Sometimes they cracked and all information on the loose!
Zip disk ✗
Similar to a floppy, but slightly larger. Can not be used in the same location that is used for floppy disks, and also higher capacity Zip disks must be used in a drive with at least the capacity same capacity -. Capacity: 100 MB 750 MB
Problems: Discs are inconvenient to use because there are different disc sizes and different size disk drive! They were also not so diffuse that other storage devices!
Short for rewritable CD, a type of CD that allows you to write about it in multiple sessions. CD-RWs can be written to a CD-RW, not a single CD, if CD-RW drive can also record standard CD-R:. Capatity up 700 MB problem: You buy a CD-RW drive if your computer does not come with one, but in most computers today include this disc! CD is easy to damage!
✗ DVD-RW
Short for DVD-RW, a rewritable format Similar to DVD + RW DVD. Data on a DVD-RW can be erased and recorded over numerous times without damaging the substrate. Capacity up to 4.7 GB Problems: You must buy a DVD-RW drive if your computer does not come with one! DVD is easy to damage!
✗ USB Flash
A small portable flash memory card that plugs into the USB port of a computer and operates as a portable hard drive. USB flash drives are touted as being easy to use because they are small enough to be carried in a pocket and can plug into any computer with a USB drive - you do not need special recording device 128. Capacity: - Problems 8 GB: Because of their size USB flash is easy to misplace! Keep this device with backup copies in a safe place for you, well known place.
✗ Removable Hard Drive
One type of drive system in which the hard disk is locked cartridges in plastic or metal so they can be removed like floppy disks. removable disk drives combine the best features of hard disks and diskettes. They are almost as large and fast hard drives and have the portability of floppy capacity.: Up to 20 GB
Problems: All information is stored in a single device, so if something go wrong with this one device, all information are endangered! So better make more than one backup devices copy.All have some problems, but if backup copies are do so right after the safekeeping, you have really good chances to recover your information in an emergency situation!
