Customer Review:
I spent a few DVDs, but I had the biggest problems with the purchase of flat screen televisions from Sony. The former recorder Sony RDR-VX535 began destroying records, so I propose that the above is just a player. I found that rarely had problems on the old Toshiba TV and I used it again. I bought a Toshiba DVD at Costco and it was defective (I think). Then I Bought a Panasonic DMR-EZ28K, good reviews and prices. It was good for a while, I was able to record up to three movies on the drive from the satellite. He began the destruction of records, and finally went to the loop of life and do not react to the reset "Secret" that I found on the web. I noticed a few other owners who have exactly the same fatal error. Fortunately, I had a few weeks and may return to Radio Shack. My question is: Is it possible that my Sony TV sends a signal to the DVD recorder, what causes this failure? It seems strange that the three DVD recorders had similar problems. Former Sony is still working, but once again connect to the Sony TV. Any ideas? My conclusion: Toshiba DVD Rec. Easy to use, but he quickly developed problems. Panasonic is easy to use, but when they got the signal or something bad that I went into the lead after a deadly disease tell me that the drive was bad and that he "fix" the problem. It is not even ask me if I wanted to do it? The old Sony continues to plug.

DMR is a synonym for "stupid"
This DVD is the first piece of electronics I've owned this seems even more confused than I am. Have an object Sharp ready at any time with which to press the reset button, just be careful not to stab you in the heart of the frustration. Goofy call my machine. Do not throw Goofy commands too quickly, and be patient on start-up. Do not use Quick Start mode, Goofy give time to collect his thoughts. Schedule your favorite channels so you can go directly to the desired channel, because Goofy does not sail, he just loves to clomp slowly from one channel to another. The naughty lil 'freezes just when you want to save. Yes, it is quite the trickster-record anything successfully, then try to save Dingo again and will tell you the same disc is "corrupted". Just hope he does not engage in the analysis of the disk, because the display endless loop and the only cure is to unplug. Sometimes it will start recording and playback without sound, sound or spraying (usually addressed by stopping and playing again). Goofy's got a very poor report card, but that does not mean I do not like it. Goofy gets a gold star for the Drag-time, so you can watch a program from the beginning while it is still recording at the end. For this you will need to buy DVD-RAM (get 'em while you can!) Who are not compatible with other DVD players. Dingo is a little jealous of my Sony DVD player, because his image is a bit sharper and the sound is less brilliant. But the Panasonic is more than sufficient, and LP mode records an image very acceptable. Do not say anything goofy, but even given the practical advantages of the DVD format, I'd probably be happier (and mentally healthy) by simply using my old Panasonic VCR. It is about 8 years, I recorded, pause, slow mo'd, FF and rewound many times without a hitch or single repair. I can record again and again on the same tape, so that if I ask Goofy delete, for example, ten minutes of recorded material to DVD-R, ten minutes I'll never come back from disk. Panasonic has a great pedigree, but my little Goofy is mutt.

DVD Recorder DMR-EZ28K
I've only had this unit for a week - and I still do not understand all this. The unit seems to work well, but the instruction book seems to have been written for someone who has extensive experience in the DVD recording, something I did not. The recorder has a considerable number of functions and manual does a poor job of explaining how to use them. If ever a machine needed a "Dummies Guide", it is! If, like me, you are again using a DVD recorder, I suggest you first find a friend who lives nearby who can help.
In addition, the remote looks much like the controller I have for my DMP-BD60 Blu-ray and they seem to interfere with each other - trying turning on a unit with the remote control causes the other unit to shutdown, etc. Therefore, I must manually check each unit most of the time.
The quality of the recordings I've done so far is impressive, I am very pleased with this aspect of the machine. It is very slow to start and / or close, but I guess patience is a virtue, as they say.

has some glitches
First, I must say that having a DVD burner is approximately 1000 times greater than that of a VCR. The advantage of having discs instead of tapes and not have to wait 5 minutes to rewind your band are awesome. That said, here are the things I do not like this particular recorder.
- It's not easy. I read the manual cover and there are still some things I did not understand. There a so many buttons on the remote that I keep forgetting what they all do. A couple of buttons seem redundant because you can do the same thing by pressing the "Function" button.
- It took me a few weeks to learn everything to schedule recordings. I kept screwing and receive error messages. There is much that they left on the manual I had to find by trial and error.
- The machine is now frozen a few times. I found how to reset it using the troubleshooting guide in the manual. It is not difficult to fix, but it worries me that I've had this machine a few weeks and I already had to reset a few times.
- Sometimes when I go back and press play, it suddenly jumps back to a point even earlier in the disk (sometimes 30-45 minutes earlier). This happened a lot, but sometimes the things I've recorded on TV and not pre-recorded discs. I think that's a problem with the machine instead of the disks well, because he arrived with dozens of discs that came from different manufacturers.
- It is slow to respond. It takes the machine at least one minute to power and it takes several seconds for it to start and stop recording. The other day I wanted to stop recording a program on a disk, put in another disc and start recording show on a different channel. Well I missed a couple of minutes on the second show because I had to wait for it to stop recording (Wait a few seconds), eject the first disc (Wait a few seconds longer), insert a new disc (wait half a minute), change channels and press record (wait a few more seconds for it to actually start recording.) Another problem I had is when I on "record" sometimes, it immediately starts recording, sometimes it stops a few seconds before it responds, and sometimes he never answers and I must hold the record until it works.
Despite these problems, I'd still rather have this DVD than my old VCR. These things are boring, but not so much that I want to take a baseball bat for. Besides, I read a lot of reviews on other brands of DVD recorders before I bought it, and a common theme that I noticed is they all have a lot of glitches and they practically need a cup of coffee before you wake up and start working. I assume that manufacturers have not learned to build a decent recorder at the moment.

Panasonic DMR DVD-EZ28K / Player
I own two of these units .... bought my first a year ago and recently bought my second one for our bedroom ... I use one in our living room everyday, and finally DVD-RAM disc damaged after about 10 months of constant use ... but the record or not expensive .. I keep a pack of five DVD-RAM at hand in case ... keep in mind that the unit does not come with a disc DVD-RAM and it does not come with an HDMI cable .... you must purchase two separate things ... but make sure the TV has HDMI .... this unit comes with the old style 3 sheets of composite cable for TV older ... the only complaint I have about these units is the fact that I DO NOT like two main buttons on top ... on / off switch and button open / Close the drawer ... it seems I'm always accidentally touch the buttons, especially when I'm dusting .... or is it dust? whatever ... I recommend the Panasonic DMR-EZ28 model because I love mine ...

The last thing I Bought at Circuit City --- a glorified digital cable decoder ...
Back in mid to late 2008, early signs that the economy was in free fall, the wife and I decided to get one last point on a sale of Circuit City closed for the love of the good old days. Needless to say we had the dreaded EZ28. And the model with K at the end may be the lemon. But who can say?
I said something. If this device makes me digital channels also possible via an analog cable connection basis, that's all that matters. I could play a DVD and record a show once in a rare blue moon. But no recording device lasts forever, if you obsessively use it all the time.
The negative reviews are honest. This model is buggy or slow it hangs like a bad operating system Windows. But the saving grace is the tuner. Market & DVR DMR sucks because cable companies do not want the competition. So come on Panny the rescue with this glorified digital cable tuner.
It's safe to say that it was supposed to be a cable box poor man and not a full-time recorder for heavy 24 / 7 tech videophiles. It was released too early in the HD wars to think anything otherwise. Knew it was cheapie goods day I bought it. But then I'm not a recordaholic DVD.
To make sure it lasts longer than the average of 2 years I will not use it for all functions. The magnetic fields surrounding super hot new HDTVs can or could be the junk EZ28. But this is no excuse for poor quality. EZ28 Avoid unless you want an upgrade from basic cable without the box rent.

Just what I needed
I bought this dvd is almost a year and I'll openly admit I have not read the manual at all and have no idea how to do everything that is available. I use it mainly to record shows while I am in class or at work, then watch them soon after. I did not pay a monthly fee for the cable company DVR then decided to try it. I bought the DVD can be recorded over and over again and it worked very well. Erase a dvd takes very little time and the menus to set the record are easy to navigate. The picture quality is not something to be enthusiastic, but I'm not recording movies or anything if it works for me.
I currently have running cable to the recorder, then the recorder connected to my Acer computer screen via HDMI - the love that player has a digital tuner. The image quality is no more watching TV, but when playing DVD picture is very nice.

Memorex DVD + RW
Memorex DVD + RW worked fine in that machine once that the DVD was formatted (Every time). However, when I registered my Sony RDR vxd655 the Panasonic would not read it. He did not say anything was recorded and the format I save before you save, even though it had already been formatted. I brought to Best Buy for repair but after 3 weeks they said the machine was ok, but I have to use a better quality DVD. So, as a warning if you use this DMR can be sure to use a high quality DVD.
