Guide to HP Pavilion DV5000 replacement keyboard
In this article I'll explain how to remove HP Pavilion DV5000 Keyboard ( http://www.papatek.com/HP-Keyboard/HP-Pavilion-DV5000-Keyboard.html ) Fortunately, laptop keyboard can be removed without taking everything apart. Even a novice can do so only if he / she is too careful. But you should still be careful, anyway the HP laptop keyboard is much cheaper than a new laptop.
In the compartment of the laptop battery, you will find three screws of the HP Pavilion DV5000 laptop keyboard base. Remove the three screws. Lift Carefully top of the keyboard HP laptop. There are small plastic latches securing the laptop keyboard on both sides, but they should't be a problem. Do not open the keyboard too, it is still connected to the motherboard.
Put the keyboard so that you can access undersea cable connector. You have to unlock the connector before you can release the keyboard cable and remove the HP Pavilion DV5000. Be very careful with connector. You can not replace the connector if you accidentally break it. The connector is permanently attached to the motherboard. Remove the two screws (green) and loosen a screw (yellow) binding of the entire hard drive. Pull cable hard drive and disconnect it from the motherboard. Remove all hard drive of the laptop. Remove the two screws on each side of the assembly the hard disk. These mounting screws for hard disk caddy. Now you can replace the hard drive by a new one. When you remove the HP Pavilion DV5000 keyboard you can get limited access to the cooling fan. It would be enough to clean the fan and heatsink. To clean the fan using a bottle of air compressed to find an air compressor. Spray compressed air into the fan until all dust has disappeared.
To unlock the connector, lift the locking clip brown. The clip opens like a hinged door. Pictured below you see the same connector to the unlocked state. To remove the memory module, carefully spread latches on both sides of the slot. The memory module appears an angle of 20-30 degrees and you can remove it from the slot by the edges.
