Improve the performance of Windows Vista and Windows 7 without upgrading the RAM
Yes, it is possible to get a better speed in Windows Vista and Windows 7 without upgrade Random Access Memory (RAM). In Windows Vista and Windows 7, it has become possible with the help of ReadyBoost. The ReadyBoost allows you use a pen drive or any other flash drive as cache memory and more with the RAM in your computer system. The ReadyBoost function enables save the cost of upgrading RAM. It only uses the available space in a flash drive to use as RAM, so you also have not need to delete the content available from your flash drive. The ReadyBoost feature increases the speed of your computer using the available space in your flash drive. We will now perform the following steps to enable the ReadyBoost function:
1. Attach a flash drive into the USB port of your CPU.
2. Select Start -> Computer in Windows start menu program. The computer window appears.
3. Right-click the drive and select Properties. The Properties dialog box appears.
4. Now select the ReadyBoost tab. It displays two radio buttons:
o Do not use this device: this radio button is selected by default. Activating this button radio means you can not use a drive to add more memory in your computer. o Use this device: This radio button allows you to use flash drive as additional memory.
5. Select the Use this radio button device. Now you need to book disk space to be used as cache memory. The space you reserve to use the cache can not be used for store items in the drive attached.
6. Move the cursor to the left or right to specify the disk space you want book more cache.
7. Click Apply.
8. Click the OK button
A ReadyBoost cache file will be created in your pen drive that Windows Vista uses extra memory cache. This file does not affect other files on your computer. When you remove the pen drive of your computer and still attached, Windows Vista automatically uses it as additional memory cache. If you do not want to use the pen drive as memory cache for more, enable the Do not use this device radio button before removing the USB key.
This way, you can improve computer speed without buying additional RAM.
