If you are a nature lover and wildlife enthusiast, come Kabini National Park, located in Karnataka state, India. It is named after the Kabini River, which flows quietly past the green and fertile land. This famous national park is also also known as the Nagarhole National Park and wildlife. Spread over 55 acres of land, this national park was once the favorite hunting ground of Maharajas and Viceroys of the British. It is very obvious when we survey the hunting lodge well maintained, which is now managed by the development of Karnataka State Tourism Corporation, under the auspices Company's Jungle Lodges. On offer is a menu of options for tourists to stay longer in paradise picturesque cottages, rooms colonial style, and tents.
It was almost dark when we arrived here, but the Park authorities proved be very welcoming. We booked into a nice little brick house finishing, dimly lit, with comfortable interiors and modern. A meeting with the rest of the tourists, a potpourri of people including students, families, etc. foreigners was held at "Gol Ghar (Round House) a dining area open-air pavilion built as a hunter. Here, after a brief opening statement, the group is divided into groups of six to seven by experienced forest guides, who led us to a jungle safari by jeep, on a night safari. The excitement followed, as for many it was first experience of a disk around a natural forest, famous for its tigers, elephants, deer, buffalo and jackals. Moreover, the chances of a nocturnal predator is higher in the evening.
As with any other park, it is entirely the chance of an individual to experience a real observation of the tiger. Wildlife parks are by nature spread over a vast territory, and animals predators take care not knowingly enter any form of human contact. However, for a variety of deer, bison, monkeys and birds is a delight for any nature lover.
The Nagarhole National Park is actively involved in a number of environmental issues, which include research animal behavior vis-à-vis the encroachment of man on forest lands. In a large screening room, tourists are shown a documentary very reflection entitled "Nagarhole: Tales from the Indian jungle." Shot very sensitive and intelligent, and his message was not lost the audience.
The somber mood with which the documentary leaves the viewer is eased at dinner time. Forest Dining room, resembles a hunting lodge in the open air, where they joined the rest of the tourists for a dinner buffet. The friendly and well trained in some thing to any type of palate. The fresh air, and being in the bosom of Mother Nature seems to do wonders on the appetite here.
A wake-up call at 6 o'clock in the morning marks the beginning of another and entertaining day at the Nature Reserve. Packed in special safari jeeps in the jungle in groups of six the company of tourists prepare for exciting any observation in the wild. If we are lucky, we do not know this wonderful show can meet your eyes, a wild dog, a member of the family cat, or maybe a wild bison. Needless to say, keep your camera ready for this Occasionally, a split second.
The real thrill of this adventure trip proved to be absolutely exhilarating boat tour engine that we went on, until the back-waters of the Kabini River, home to the land and several avian creatures. Groves bamboo and wetland had provided us with monuments, as marks of a tiger is not that old pug, and the tiger down. Along the banks of the river in an environment incredibly green and wonderous, observation of an entire family of elephants, bamboo greedily snatch the thick soil was a show directly from the National Geographic Channel: an unforgettable scene.
The backwaters of Kabini River also happens at home for a endangered squirrel: The Red Giant Malabar Squirrel. Very active, but shy creatures, like the investigation of security people their tree tops and branches. Weather slightly cloudy, clear waters and serenity is a pure delight pure, and it is something that any person should know.
Kabini River Lodge is about 220 kms from Bangalore city, and only 80 km from Mysore. Well connected to roads and signs to show you the way, can be achieved within 8 hours from the city of Bangalore.
