Scared about learning to drive manual? I come from a new car with manual and have difficulty learning to drive it? This guide will help you start.
First rule of driving manual transmissions: When you do not know what to do, the press in the clutch. Nothing bad will happen until the clutch is pressed Si car looks like it will stall (lots of stirring, cutting), press the clutch In addition, push the clutch in while coming to a stop. Now here's the best way to learn from scratch.
1. Go to a large empty area deserted as a park or a street without traffic.
2. Put the car in neutral (gear lever in the middle of the pattern of movement). Press the clutch all Road. Now, slowly press the accelerator and bring the RPM to 2000 and try to keep it there (exactly 2000, not between 1800 and 2200) for 20 seconds. Then bring it back to 1500 and keep it there for a few seconds. Go between the two and get an idea of the reactivity the car is the amount of gas you need for a certain regime. Keep the clutch in so doing to get used to holding it.
4. To neutral and the rest of your left leg for a bit, you'll need it in a sec.
5. Then, with the car in the first (top speed left in the shift pattern) and the clutch, start letting the clutch as slowly as you can. Veeery slowly. Do not touch the gas at the moment. At some point, you begin to feel the clutches of the engine. This is the point of engagement. Try and remember as you will help later. Now, continue to let the clutch sloooooowly. Do not panic off, the car starts moving. Keep letting the clutch up it is completely outward. You will now move to 5 mph. Repeat this exercise several times.
6. Put in the first report with the clutch depressed. Hold the RPMs at 2000 again. Your goal in this exercise is to keep the RPMs at 2000, no matter what, whatever position the gas / clutch. This means that you move both simultaneously. Start letting the clutch again. When you see the RPMs start to go down to the point of engagement, to give it a little gas to bring it up to 2000. Keep letting the clutch go out and give it a little more gas to stay at 2000 until the clutch is all this way. Practice until you can smoothly and evenly.
7. Having mastered taking off and are moving along in 1st, the engine running at 3000 rpm and push the clutch Place in the shifter in 2nd (bottom left in the shift pattern). Now, keep the engine at about 1500 RPM and let the clutch slowly than you did in the previous year, except that now keep the RPMs to 1500. After leaving the clutch, you will second position. Now you can enter the practice 3rd gear and so on. With practice, you can also upgrade to higher speed once you're more confident.
8. Now the hardest part of the handbook: Starting on an incline. Hold the RPMs to 2000 and start to release the clutch. You should be able to find the right combination of gas and clutch to keep the car remains on the slope, not move forward or backward. It is very difficult and takes practice and you'll probably stall a few times, but it will become natural. Once you can hold your own, more gas / clutch unless you move up the hill. If you encounter a situation where you're not sure you can do (like when someone is stopped just behind you on a hill), there is a trick that will prevent you from back: Engage the brake hand until you start to move, then release it.
