Handicapping harness races using the rhythm is very different from handicap thoroughbred races using the rhythm. Let me ask you this question: "Are you try to use the pace of disability harness racing and if so, are you making money? A good jockey might be able to gas a little behind a keen runner, but basically, a thoroughbred out of the door and takes the jockey for a ride.
So you decide which horse (s) want to head and one (s) will only run the pace set by leaders. You determine the quarters of the race where each runner will face. If a jockey can try to throw away its mounting pace or faster to get out to challenge a leader, what you see is basically what you get.
A jockey 90 pounds, sitting with only her toes in the stirrups, just did not have much control over a thoroughbred thousand pounds. In other words, you set the pace in a race of thoroughbreds watching the horse, then give a slight nod to the addendum.
Pace handicapping a race harness is different because the greatest driver, with feet braced in the stirrups of the bike, has a better control over an animal that is generally more docile than a thoroughbred.
