Blogging and Article Writing - viral marketing or Duplicate Content?
Article writing is fast becoming the marketing method of choice for owners of online business today. Many have undertaken to write an article one day, there are three or four times a week. Almost everyone who is involved in article writing for marketing knows the writing section viral effect on their traffic and sales, and they like it.
In the forums and around water coolers, the question is asked, "What about duplicate content? How can I use my content on my blog or website and submit it to article directories without being penalized for duplicate content? "Fortunately, today announced the same article your blog or personal site and submit to article directories can not be a problem at all, but if you're concerned about duplicate content, there are some precautions without derailing your article marketing efforts.
(Note: for the rest of the article, I'll use "blog" to refer to either your blog or personal site. You must choose to view or update one or the other with the same content but not both. By For brevity, blog will be used as an example.)
Assuming you want to use the same article on your blog (or personal site) than in the directories section, the most sensitive suggestion that came from a few reliable sources, is to publish on your own blog first, ping directories (If you published on your blog), wait 24 hours and then submit your article to as many directories as you can. By clicking and waiting 24 hours search engines have a handle on where the original content and your name is already associated.
Another recommendation, reliable and which is fairly easy to implement, is to include the URL of the original message in the resource box or "About the Author" information the submitted article. If your item contains a link to the original post, duplicate content will not be a problem because, in essence, the original content is referenced.
After working through several stages of concern over duplicate content, the "do what you want to stage" (mainly because I did not know better) for the "blog, ping, wait, publish" stage, I came across an idea that makes sense to me. Not only does it eliminate the potential problem of duplicate content by adding blogs to my website and the publication of that article, but it provides increased exposure to both my blog and my submitted article. Because, you see, the main problem I see with duplicate content has more to do with readers that the search engines.
To state more clearly, forget the search engines for a minute to think about what you hope to gain from your blog and your article. Want readers who are sufficiently interested in what you say to click and find more information or to purchase products on your website. If readers find exactly the same thing on your blog in your article every time they follow a link, they'll soon be looking at your articles or your blog but not both. And since you ideally want readers two places, you are serving your best players do not duplicate your own content on your blog and in your articles.
To this end, I started using my blog as a springboard for writing articles. In general, messages my blog is longer and somewhat different language from that of my articles. Can I use examples and website addresses site in my blog I can not include in Articles published, or I can give instructions on how to do something that would take three or four items that may not all be taken up by a publisher, but they can all be found on my blog. I can get my ideas in my blog, then refine the messages for inclusion in an article directory. In essence, "the rest of the story," the party had to be edited out to meet the requirements of article submission, can be accessed by clicking on a link in the resource box.
Most importantly, when a player chooses to follow the links to my resources, whether my blog or my site, they will find something new and fresh, not the same thing they have just read, which would probably lead them to click away rather than clicking through.
The obvious drawback is that it takes a little longer. If time is of the essence, at least follow the "Post, ping, wait, submit" method. However, it is my opinion that you will gain a loyal readership with just a little more work along the "blog, rewrite, submit" method and give your readers valuable information in both your blog and your article. If people are really coming on the web for information, the owners of search engines say you should be the players return for new information and fresh, not the same information repeated again.
