Blue Ray discs Features
During the first months of 2007, a survey was conducted by Home Media Research. Results of the survey were that Blu-ray movies sale was almost double compared to HD DVD's United States. The main competitor of blue ray discs are high definition DVD discs.
According to Home Media Magazine Sales HD DVD during the first six months was about 795,000, but the sale of e Blu-ray is bigger than HD DVD. Sales of Blu-ray over the first six months was about 1.6 million.
The Sony Corporation actually developed and introduced Blu-ray. Without losing sight of the blue ray discs increased popularity, most studios are releasing their movies on Blu-ray or both blue ray and high-definition DVD format.
Compared with other DVD formats, the blue ray format offers more public image brighter and sharper. The blue discs Ray also offer high storage capacity. This high capacity blue ray helps to add interactive features and games as well with the film. The Toshiba Corporation has introduced the HD DVD disc.
The market share of blue ray disk is increasing rapidly. The new Blu-ray are at pains to the HD-DVD. The main rival HD DVD discs is blue ray discs. Wal Mart has decided that preference will be the highest blue ray discs during early 2008. It is because of their sales and popularity increases.
In the 1970 'Competition between Blu-ray and HD-DVD is almost identical to the VHS and Betamax. Given the growing popularity of Blue Ray discs, the majority of most U.S. stores decided to increase their high-definition Blue-ray discs stock nearly 75%.
Blue Ray disc format has advantages over other formats DVD, because it is larger capacity to store data. The high definition DVD disc has a storage capacity of about 30GB and is working to increase capacity of 45GB.
While other blue ray discs can store up to 50GB and development is being done to increase its storage capacity of 200GB. Consumers are primarily focused on the DVD with greater storage capacity that is where Blu-ray has captured the essence of the market share in high definition.
The other reasons that made the blue ray disks have been the most popular support from major studios such as Lionsgate, Disney, Sony, Sony Play Station etc. also supported the Blu-ray players have shown their interest in the Blu-ray. Thus, many players are willing to spend more money to buy the new Blu-ray.
These drives are known as DVD players double format. NEC, Sony and LG are the companies that manufacture these dual format players. It is really surprising that Sony is the main backer of the Blu-ray technology. The Manufacturing company Sony dual-format players may be due to Sony does not want to lose in the competition of DVD.
