How to update your Xbox HDD
If you're wondering how to update your Xbox hard drive, here's an easy approach.
You need a number of things to help you with the process. You must have installed on your Xbox chimpanzee. Secondly, you need a separator Molex there. If you do not have a Y Splitter, you just need to find a way to feed the old and your new hard drive at the same time. Finally, You'll need Torx screwdrivers of appropriate size to open the Xbox. At the rear you will find a jumper where you can find various options including the slaves, the master and selection cable. Here you must select one slave. Using the screwdriver tore open the Xbox and remove the top. While opening the summit, you must disconnect your Xbox power supply for safety reasons. Using the Y-splitter or other method of feeding both the addition, the former hard drive and new hard drive. Remember to detach the IDE cable without disconnecting. Once you click yes, you can see the scanning system for available devices. You can see both hard drives in the results once they are detected. Once you see both drives listed, you can leave to complete this phase. Now it's time to get the information from master to slave, you can do so using master clone slave function. You must copy the entire disk. The duration of cloning varies from one system to another according to available data. Once you have fully cloned, leave and return to the main menu.
In the finalization stages, you must lock the drive before leaving the Chimp. You find the blocking feature available option number 3. The system will ask the key source. You can choose option 2, if you know the EEPROM backup in tmp folder. If you are not familiar with this place, you must choose option 1. After choosing the right option, you must confirm lock function. Once the blockage is complete, you can exit and return to Chimp Shell. The screen will look like returning calls you back screen. You can Now turn off the Xbox, remove the master, who is the original hard disk, and the power of the slave or the new hard drive directly, without using y-splitter. You have upgraded your Xbox HDD, replace the top.
