The hard disk component of every computer is popularly referred to as the hard disk drive (HDD). It is the hardware component of every personal computer (pc) which provides the anchorage to every other software component such as the computer drive and drivers which enhance the general functionality of the computer. The HDD provides the frame work for the computer registers to be embedded and run properly. Hence, it is the size, space, defragmentation and status of the HDD that determines the speed of computers.
The hard disk becomes the first component of the computer hardware that becomes disarrayed when viruses, Trojan and computer worms invade the computer system. This derangement of the drives that were previously organized in a fine and regular pattern in the hard disk becomes the primary reason of dis-functionality or malfunctioning of almost all the computer programs which has its software root embedded in the computer registry root in the hard disk. In addition to the computer Worm-Virus-Trojan effect, running some malicious program and software also disrupts the hard disk organization and thereby slowing the speed of the computer by inserting some strange registry tools into the computer HDD registry, which may not be in conformity with the organization pattern of the drives, hence further slowing the speed of the PC.This is what is called Hard Disk Fragmentation.
In order to bring about solution to this problem of slow pc as a result of HDD fragmentation, it becomes very important that a computer based process be initiated to rearrange the HDD again, and this is the process of hard disk defragmentation. Every computer can run this and anybody can use it to fix his or her pc speed or virus related problems without having to spend a cent paying any computer technician or programmer.
To do this successfully, click the start menu of your computer, go to my computer and click open to display the computer content. Right click on the local disk, usually labeled C, a local disk C properties window opens, click on Tools and then click on Defragment now (the second option on the list) and you will see the Disk Defragmenter window open, select the volume, which is usually labeled C and then click defragment. Then sit back and watch the computer run and complete the process. It usually takes some several minutes depending on the volume and contents of the Local Drive C. After the process, view the result, and restart your computer, and see how the speed of the computer increase and return to the best it can.
