Partition Wizard Home Edition VS EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition
As a commuter fancier, I’ve found a free partition software called Partition Wizard Home Edition on the Internet few days ago. This partition software is similar to EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition, the one that I used before. I downloaded this Partition Wizard Home Edition with curiosity and had it tested for comparison. To my surprise, it has much more advantage than the one that I used before. I’d like to share my test result with you.
My pc has a 100 GB hard disk with 75 GB of data on one partition. I tried to resize the partition on the disk. I tried EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition (hereinafter called EMP) to enlarge or shrink the partition by 10 GB. It took me 25 minutes. While using Partition Wizard Home Edition, it only took me 5 minutes. This really surprised me. Partition Wizard Home Edition saves me 80 % of time under the same hardware configuration. After the test, I found both software do not damage data after moving partitions. But why could Partition Wizard Home Edition save me 80 % of time? In order to find out reasons, I did the following test using these two software.
OS: Windows XP SP3
CPU: AMD 64 X 2 Dual Cores 4600+ 2.40 GHz
Memory: 1.75 GB
Partition: 100G
Data: 75G
Table I
It is very clear in this table. It took EMP much more time to move partitions than Partition Wizard Home Edition. Especially move small size partitions.
Next step, I tested the partition resizing function of these two software. Here are the screenshots from EASEUS Partition Master.
pic1
It is clear that partition D is 7 GB with data. I’d like to increase partition D to 12 GB. To do that, I have to shrink the next partition F from 69 GB to 64GB. Then increase partition D from 7G to 12 GB. Following are the screenshot for this process:
pic2
First, resize partition F to 64 GB as the picture shows.
pic3
Second, enlarge partition D from 7 GB to 12 GB.
pic4
Third, click YES to apply the operations above and record current time is 13:57.
pic5
pic6
After the process is done, record the time.
Pic7
The total time used is 36 minutes.
Next is the test for Partition Wizard Home Edition.
pic1
Similarly, we have the same test with the same hard disk and the same operation. First, we resize the partition F from 67.50G to 62.50G.
pic2
After that, we resize partition D.
pic3
Click YES and record the time is 15:26.
pic4
After the process, we record the time again and calculate time used: 15:33-15:26=7minutes.
pic5
So amazing, with the same system, the same hard disk, the same operation process, different software can have the different results. The former one takes 36 minutes and the latter one only take 7 minutes to complete the process. Partition Wizard Home Edition saves much more time than EMP.
After that, I did tests repeatedly to ensure the accuracy of the test. The result was the same. Partition Wizard Home Edition performed better functions in moving and resizing partitions and saved much more time. More time would be saved if using Partition Wizard Home Edition to manage larger partitions.
Following table shows the differences of EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition and Partition Wizard Home Edition in terms of Windows Operating System.
Table II
From the table II, we learn that EPM does not support 64 bit Operating Systems. It gives no clear explanation on whether Windows 7 supported. But you can see clear explanation on the website of Partition Wizard Home Edition: http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
From its official website, Partition Wizard Home Edition claims it support 32/64 bits Operating Systems and supports disk and partition size larger than 2 TB. While EASEUS Partition Master Professional Edition ($32) does not support.
Other bonus features from Partition Wizard Home Edition are rebuilding MBR and partition recovery. As far as I know, only Partition Table Doctor has these functions. But this Partition Table Doctor will cost you 36$. You can enjoy all these functions for free as long as you have Partition Wizard Home Edition. What’ more, Partition Wizard has professional functions in data wipe. Whether you want to wipe all the confidential data in the hard disk or in the partition, it will serve you well as a professional guard! For more information, you can go to

Partition operation usually takes long time. What will happen to the data if some accidents happen during resize partition? For example, partition process stops due to unexpected error, power failure, or no access to hard disk and so on. If the partition process stopped, partition would be destroyed and all partitions would not be accessed. This problem would be fatal to your computers. Partition Wizard surprised me again because it also solved this problem. You can go to http://www.partitionwizard.com/help/resize-partition.html for more details.
Partition Wizard provide Enhanced Data Protecting Mode feature, it could protect your data even power failure or any accident happen during partition operation. To prove this, I get an old hard disk and install Window XP to have test. First, I install EPM and select system partition to carry out the function of Move/Resize.
We can see that the software asks us to restart the computer.
In order to get a better result of the test, we need to have a power failure test when the process is 76% completed. Following are pictures taken by digital camera.
Now, I unplug the power cable and restart my PC and this is what I see?
Fatal error occurs in the system partitions. My pc does not boot because partition table is now damaged. Next, I would like to have a test on Partition Wizard Home Edition.
First, resize the system partition and shrink it. Here I see the option in the red square is chosen (as it is default). At this moment, all data would be under protection.
Similarly, this software also asks us to reboot the computer to apply the operations.
I did the same thing to un-plug power cable when the process is 90% complete.
Now, re-plug the power cable and reboot the computer. To my surprise, system partition is not damaged even the power failure. System boot properly.
Unbelievable! I have to show my admiration to this partition management software.
Above is a comparison between two partition software. What’s more, Partition Wizard Home Edition is completely free with professional technique support. Such a great software is what I would like to share with everyone.

At Home $11.99 From one of the most beloved authors of our  time—more than six million copies of his books have been sold in this country alone—a fascinating excursion into the history behind the place we call home. “Houses aren’t refuges from history. They are where history ends up.”   Bill Bryson and his family live in a Victorian parsonage in a part of England where nothing of any great significance has happened since the Romans decamped. Yet one day, he began to consider how very little he knew about the ordinary things of life as he found it in that comfortable home. To remedy this, he formed the idea of journeying about his house from room to room to “write a history of the world without leaving home.” The bathroom provides the occasion for a history of hygiene; the bedroom, sex, death, and sleep; the kitchen, nutrition and the spice trade; and so on, as Bryson shows how each has figured in the evolution of private life. Whatever happens in the world, he demonstrates, ends up in our house, in the paint and the pipes and the pillows and every item of furniture. Bill Bryson has one of the liveliest, most inquisitive minds on the planet, and he is a master at turning the seemingly isolated or mundane fact into an occasion for the most diverting exposition imaginable. His wit and sheer prose fluency make At Home one of the most entertaining books ever written about private life. From the Hardcover edition. |
