Wind energy is surely an alternate energy we can use during this time of ever increasing and expensive conventional energy production. Wind turbines can be used on areas that have wide open fields and strong winds, and can generate free and unlimited electricity. There are so many windmill kits available in the market today that are ready for assembly and installation. The quick and easy install kits can be very tempting to buy. However, are kits made by windmill manufacturers worth your money?
Windmill kits can be very pricey, and they can go up to several thousands of dollars. Often times, people interested with wind energy are often turned off by the amount they have to spend enjoy free energy. For people who would prefer a quick free energy solution regardless of the amount they have to pay can always take advantage of the quick install kits. However, for most of us who doesn't have such luxury, we can always turn to our DIY skills.
Creating an affordable wind turbine only requires a few hundred dollars to probably less than a thousand, a good energy guide that would probably cost about 50 bucks, and some legwork. That's a total of several thousand dollars less than what you will have to pay windmill manufacturers for a quick install kit.
Windmills are made up or moving and rotating parts that get damaged overtime. Replacements are always available to keep the windmills working. These replacement parts cost way less than the parts you could get from a kit. However, picking up random parts for your home made windmill project might not be a very good idea unless you have a good energy guide to help you.
Windmills can have hundreds of parts depending on the design, and there are lots of things that could go wrong if you don't know what you're doing. I would recommend you find a good energy guide that would provide you all the information you need to successfully assemble a homemade windmill.
