Any TV that can receive and display different video systems like PAL, SECAM and NTSC is bound to be popular.

The dual voltage design of multi System TVs ensure that they do not need voltage transformers. Indeed, neither high or low voltage transformers are required for multi system TVs. They can directly be plugged into either a 110 voltage source or 220 voltage source without any risk of voltage fluctuation.
However, there might be instances when the plug of the television does not fit into a particular country's outlet. An inexpensive plug adapter can easily solve this problem. Availing them is not difficult at all as these are freely available in most of the electronic stores. Here it would also be worth mentioning that only region free DVD players are compatible with Multi system TV.
These are however just a few drawbacks of multi system TVs. The benefits of multi system TVs are so many that they easily outweigh their disadvantages. Take for instance the case that the picture quality of multi system TV is far superior to the conventional TV.
The absence of scan lines is another important feature of multi system TV. Traditional televisions used an electron beam. This used to scan the picture tube from top to bottom on a regular, repeated basis. When playing these scan lines were visible to the naked eye which hampered th equality of picture. The technology that run multi system TVs include in built line doubling. This further improves the quality of picture and makes for a riveting viewing.
Moreover, multi system TVs provide a perfect, flat viewing area. With no curvature hampering multi system TVs like the traditional ones, it eliminates any chance of the distortion of picture that used to occur around the edges of a conventional TV.
With so many advantages going in favor of Multi system TV, it really should not come as a surprise that it is growing in popularity in leaps and bounds.
