Now this time Dell comes in a market with latest premium gaming notebook- "Dell XPS M1710". And when talking about the design and case of the laptop, you will get a very attractive illuminated case. The multimedia features available in the Dell XPS M1710 are also very solid ones. And it’s the amazing gaming performance Laptop, you will get full assortment of ports and connections. It has a 17" widescreen and comes in a choice of two colors, "formula red" or "metallic black". On the inside it houses the 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo Processor, up to 4GB of RAM and greatest nVidia Go 7900 GTX graphics card with 512MB of memory.

Design:-

No built-in TV tuner is present, but an optional external TV tuner and remote costs $130. Dell has gone with an integrated subwoofer to complement the two front-mounted speakers. The result is a meatier sound than most notebooks offer.

The M1710 seems determined to blast performance records to bits. It’s the first gaming notebook to arrive in PC Magazine Labs that's built with nVidia’s GeForce Go 7900 GTX, by far the most powerful mobile graphics chipset available. Benefiting from this screaming 3D subsystem, M1710M test system beat the XPS M170 by 12 percent on 3DMark 2005 and by 23 percent on our Doom 3 benchmark tests. The 2.16-GHz Intel Core Duo T2600 works in tandem with the Go 7900 GPU and a satisfying 512MB of DDR2 VRAM to deliver top-flight performance. 3DMark03 was thoroughly conquered with a score of 18,319, a good 24 percent above results from the XPS M170. The most powerful mobile graphics chipset available. The real thrill of an XPS notebook is its performance, and the M1710 doesn't disappoint.

Battery life:-

The M1710 delivered a respectable 2 hours 42 minutes of battery life in our Mobile Mark 2005 productivity test, so we would expect a good chunk of that runtime to be sacrificed to the gaming gods. All this power will cost you—and I don't just mean the $4,215 sticker price. The XPS M1710's blazing configuration demands plenty of juice, and its short (2.5 hours) battery life reflects that reality. Because of the notebook's substantial weight (8.8 pounds), the likelihood of your playing games on battery power is pretty slim.
