• Ensure that the storage device's fan, and the internal fan of the system are working fine.
• Another important thing is to ensure that the system is in a cool place.
• If you feel the ventilation is not sufficient, then increase it.

If overheating damages the hard drive, then you have to opt for hard disk recovery, if you do not have appropriate backup in place.
